It took a moment, a few days, a couple of weeks and hours until I shared my commentary on the incredible life and legacy of Roger Nelson. Many of us refer to him intimately as “The Purple One” or The Artist. We all knew him as a musical genius and our one and only “Prince”. And oh, how appropriate and well deserving for such an amazing, gifted and talented man. As I wrapped my heart and mind around his demise and accepted his soul’s transition, it became more clear that his purpose was complete. For those who have ever had the opportunity to attend a concert and shake Prince’s hand, give him a hug, record a album or single; shared the stage or sit at his dinner table, you were blessed closely by his presence in that you had a front row seat to his life. Prince left an imprint on the hearts and souls of people who truly loved his music. I met Prince’s music around my senior year in high school. And I didn’t hesitate to attend one of the greatest concerts in my life when he was at Constitution Hall in Washington, DC. “Whose that soprano, falsetto voice is that on the radio talking about, “I wanna be your lover?” Well, thanks to WPGC and Donnie Simpson, ALL on the eastcoast know! And as we learned more and more about this transparent and beautiful soul of a man, we were being given a lesson about life because if you listen to every song, every album, Prince wrote and sang about his and other’s life experiences. For instance, if you’ve ever listened to the #Emancipation album, you will hear some of what he went through to own his purpose driven, extremely extraordinary and private life. “White Mansion” is one of my favorite tracks. He was referring to Paisley Park, his home. There are so many articles out there in magazines, on social media expressing about Prince. I am in awe and appreciating the photo chosen for this blog. If you did not know, the stretching out of the arms, palms up is the symbolic gesture and complete surrendering; to God. Prince transformed life and divinity. Regardless of his celebrity status or what the Universe predicted and decided would be Prince’s destiny, I can see that God used him to set a lot of hearts free. Others may disagree. However, in retrospect, he answered the call. To understand when God chooses to use someone as he did Prince; whose music impacted so many people around world. You cannot help but consider it. His life, to me seemed more like a biblical character. If God or a prophet wrote a scripture about Prince’s life, what do you think it would say? I will leave it there. Listen to his music. Remembering, Prince. ~ Faith Works We truly enjoy research and came across a publication that I will cite at the end of this blog post. It is research and study of the human capacity to dream. When we dream, sometimes the dreams can be extremely lucid. They appear as messages that are trying to get to us or through to us. Dreams are a form of connecting and communication and I believe that souls can communicate with other souls through this process. Particularly if what or whoever of which you have had the dream, was a recent and most dominant thought. Sometimes, dreams are unexpected. How true especially if not conscientious about the thoughts that are kept or projected outward. Dreams can also stem from something a person said or did. Or perhaps from something that already exists in nature itself such as a mountain. As we know and in our personal experience, dominant thoughts; once released into the universe returns a response in the form of sometimes, a dream or frequency. Very powerful I know. The Journey By Brian Culbertson International Women's Day is a very exciting moment and time for women all around the world. It is a celebration of diversity and a time to observe. Leadership is a common theme for women; even with those who have just answered the calling to that reality. For centuries, women have demonstrated a great capacity and understanding of human success and failures. Give yourselves a round of applause. "I'm Every Woman, It's All in Me" ~ Chaka Khan" Have you seen the definitions produced by Merriam-Webster describing the terms woman and female? Two totally different perceptions. Women are redefining themselves more and more. The United States Census Bureau reports in 2016, that there are approximately 162 million women existing on the planet. Some History: Women's Day spans back to 1857 and is still celebrated today. When women from New York City factories staged a protest over working conditions. International Women’s Day was first observed in 1909, but it wasn’t until 1981 that Congress established National Women’s History Week to be commemorated the second week of March. In 1987, Congress expanded the week to a month. Every year since, Congress has passed a resolution for Women’s History Month, and the President has issued a proclamation. There are many support organizations for women to join to empower themselves in their personal and professional life to help make a difference as they have always done and always will. Yes, it worked. It was very funny at that moment and I thought it was a fun thing to do. We can always invent ideas to encourage others while enjoying our careers. No matter what we do or where we sit at work, inspiration can be found. Case in point. The persons we see each and everyday during our worklife may have experiences that many people know nothing about and how can we expect everyone to be at their best every day? In honor of Black History Month, one of my favorite writers and poet, Mya Angelou shared some very exciting and wise words that are applicable even today. “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” I challenge to keynote the days in an effort to build and in areas in our personal or professional life. Your voice can inspire someone that could use an inspiring word. It's a kind gesture. Maybe you identify and appreciate what others do and enjoy for a living. Bring on the Faith and happy attitude because while we're all human, we will experience the downside to every experience. Life changes moment by moment. Even when we work. Sweet and simple. Faith works! ~Design Being creative is a wonderful experience and I must admit the gratification that exist as a result of it. I've always adored the gift and appreciation for creative people and also wondered why liberal arts was never my first choice in education instead of the sciences. And so, we later learn that it is never too late to become who we are anointed to be. Yes, I'm also an Artist. Have you discovered you have other great talents? The designing and restoration of authentic arts and crafts in addition to small biz consulting, public speaking and community volunteerism is confirmation enough to know that however many gifts you're blessed with, there is room enough to share them to the world; especially when it's helping others. The late Zig Ziglar once said: You will get all you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want." "Artisanship is authentic creativity" ~ DesignedByAnne, LLC The most gratifying and remarkable experience is discovering our purpose. We all have talents. Listening to our own inner voice is more important. That divine voice that the universe uses to call you into your purpose. You too have a destiny. It was once said to me in my lifetime, that I did not listen. As an adult, all I could think of was why would another adult say something like that to me? Obviously and quite clearly, it was not the voice I was expecting or wanted to hear from at that time. So I did what most people would do when criticized, I stepped away to keep from responding unfavorably and with rebuttal. Fast forward, I always do research and decided for myself to listen to and for the right voice. Sure, we all may have been influenced by other's suggestions, opinions and perception of our human faculties; however what about the voice that confirms for you, your purpose? My research of many years suggests that when we destiny tune-in to our existence, we hold the capacity to hear the right voice which says, we're on the right path. Add them all up. You see, what appears or sounds negative to us as human beings can also turn fragility into faith. To see and believe in ourselves more confidently and lovingly and use the power and ability to listen to what really serves us and others rather than what nerves us or others. Later on, it will all make sense. It also makes us all a better person. Trust your instincts. You have a purpose. Leverage it. Build on it. The Universe is designed and prepared to assist you. ~ Faithworks Complacency. It’s normal, yet limiting. It’s being inactive in the order of human operations. There is so much more inside the human core of us all that can be developed and is needed in the earth realm. Complacency is deciding that no matter what is happening in and around the world, there is no movement and acknowledgment from the self. Ask yourself if that is what truly resonate; sitting there while the whole world revolves and evolve without your great potential to contribute to its success. Growth, no matter how long we're here on this planet, the world and the contents thereof will also have a need to flourish by divine nature. For many, the competing stops and the fulfillment starts or begins again. Look around you. What circumstances, thoughts or who is distracting from reaching your destiny? Of course if where you are is propelling you into your destiny, nothing and no one can stop it. You have to shift. The importance of this blog post is to emphasize that life is movement at every age and stage of life. The laws of the soul are far greater than complacency. Maya Angelou once said, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better.” An ending is always a new beginning”. Who will share your story? In 2016.
